Marking its 100th anniversary, the RAL K5 semi-matt colour fan has been reimagined through a special edition crafted by Dutch design studio Raw Color. This commemorative design pays homage to the enduring legacy of the RAL CLASSIC colour collection, which has been a cornerstone in colour standardisation since its inception.

Raw Color's approach involved delving into the historical applications of RAL CLASSIC colours, organising them into thematic clusters such as transportation, communication, and safety. The result is a design that seamlessly merges functionality with aesthetic appeal, reflecting the diverse contexts in which RAL colours have been utilised over the past century.

The RAL K5 colour fan encompasses all 216 standardised shades from the RAL CLASSIC collection. Each colour is presented in a full-surface, semi-matt finish, providing users with an accurate representation of the hue's effect. This tool is indispensable for professionals in design, architecture, and craftsmanship, facilitating precise colour selection and combination.

In addition to its practical applications, the centenary edition supports a charitable cause. For every RAL K5 semi-matt colour fan sold through the RAL COLOURS online shop by December 31, 2025, €1 will be donated to socialbee. This organisation aids individuals with refugee or migrant backgrounds in integrating into the German labour market, aligning with RAL's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The colour fan's design includes nine colour ranges, featuring solid colours, safety and signal hues, as well as metallic shades. Each shade is identified by a unique four-digit RAL code and an associative colour name available in eight languages, ensuring clear communication across global platforms.
