The Towner Art Gallery are on a roll lately—their Ravilious & Co exhibition this summer was an extensive and thoughtfully-curated joy—and the latest show at the Eastbourne-based gallery looks to continue that trend. A Green and Pleasant Land, which opened this weekend, presents a large selection of works by artists and photographers who have explored Britain's urban and rural landscape through their work, from the 1970s to the present day.

The works on show encompass photography, painting, sculpture and film, and showcase the diverse ways in which contemporary artists have engaged with the landscape and, in turn, how their work can shed light on our complex cultural, political and spiritual relationships with our own surroundings. Exhibiting artists include Andy Goldsworthy, Martin Parr, Mike Perry, Theo Simpson, John Stezaker, Clare Woods and Donovan Wylie.
